Tarbena sits at the entrance to the Pop Valley.Tarbena has strong Moorish roots but when the Moors left the village lost its population and the Viceroy of Palma de Mallorca repopulated the village with 17 new families. One of the main features of Tarbena is its mountain landscape. Tarbena has a milder climate than the coast with sporadic snow in winter-time. It is renowned for the aromatic plants of the sierras which surround it.
